What it measures#
The hyperscaler reading of the Silicon Data A100 Rental Price Index: the same modelled, standardized daily figure, for capacity rented from the large clouds. Silicon Data publish the neo-cloud and hyperscaler readings side by side; no listed contract references either A100 reading.
How it is built#
By Silicon Data, from transaction data GPUQuant cannot see. They standardize each observation for machine specification, rental term, platform performance and geography, remove statistical outliers, and validate the figure independently each day. None of that is reproducible from outside, which is the difference between this number and a GPUQuant reference: a GPUQuant figure is a reading of a published price with a URL behind it, and this is a standardized estimate.
Same modelling caveat as the H100 index. No listed futures contract settles against it. The RIC follows the pattern of the other two and has not been confirmed against an LSEG listing.
