DRAM chip spot prices
The spot price of a DDR5 16Gb, DDR4 16Gb and DDR4 8Gb chip, as DRAMeXchange publishes it daily, with the history the Internet Archive holds since 2019, and what the site is waiting for before it shows them.
What it measures#
The spot price of one DRAM chip, in US dollars, for the three parts DRAMeXchange quotes daily on its public page: the DDR5 16Gb chip that server and client modules are built from, and the DDR4 16Gb and 8Gb chips of the generation before it. Spot is the price for immediate delivery in the open market, among vendors, OEMs, integrators, module makers and brokers, and it moves every day where a contract price moves every quarter.
A chip price is what a module is made of: a DDR5 RDIMM 64GB carries thirty-two 16Gb chips, so the chip row and the module row can be read against each other, and the gap between them is the register, the power management, the board and the assembly.
The history is the 2026 shortage in one line. In March 2025 the DDR5 16Gb chip was $5.11 on this table; in September 2026 it was $54.33. The DDR4 8Gb chip went from $1.50 to $45.28 over the same eighteen months, and the DDR4 16Gb chip, an older part with its production winding down, to $90.50, above the DDR5 part it was meant to be replaced by.
Nothing is shown yet. TrendForce, which publishes DRAMeXchange, has been asked for written consent to display the table; the reader, the archive backfill and the schedule wait on it.
How it is built#
By DRAMeXchange, TrendForce's memory price service, which publishes a session average, high and low for each part from the day's trading among vendors, OEMs, system integrators, module makers and brokers. GPUQuant reads the session average from the table on DRAMeXchange's public page, dates each row by that table's own stamp, and never computes anything from it: a spot print is quoted as published, per chip or per module, in dollars.
The history comes from the Internet Archive, which holds the page with the table intact on about 1,300 distinct days since 2019, read through the same parser as the live page. The publisher's item names have changed over that time and each series matches every name it has carried; a name the catalog does not know is dropped and reported rather than guessed at.

What GPUQuant shows#
Nothing yet. DRAMeXchange's terms of use forbid reproducing or displaying the site's materials without TrendForce's written consent, and GPUQuant holds itself to the same rule it kept with Silicon Data and Ornn: the reader, the archive backfill and the schedule are built and tested, and every one of them refuses to store a row until the consent is recorded. The day it arrives, the rows appear with their history.
