# Silicon Data RAM index

> The Silicon Data RAM Index: a weighted basket of GDDR6 memory prices published on business days, an input cost under every accelerator, and why it is an index and not a quotable price.

Updated 2026-09-06. Canonical: https://gpuquant.com/docs/market-data/silicon-data-ram-index

## What it measures

The Silicon Data RAM Index: a weighted basket of GDDR6 memory prices, reviewed every two months, published on business days at 16:00 UTC. It is an input cost to the hardware behind every rental price on the site, and the one memory series shown.

Silicon Data state no denominator for it: the chart says dollars and the methodology says a weighted basket of constituent products, but never per chip, per module or per gigabyte. So the figure is comparable with itself over time and is not a quotable memory price, which is why the site shows it as an index with no unit.

## How it is built

By Silicon Data, as a weighted basket of constituent GDDR6 products, reviewed every two months. The methodology states the basket and its weighting and never the denominator, which is why the site treats it as an index rather than a price.

## What GPUQuant shows

The newest **7 days**, and nothing older, under a written display licence from Silicon Data that covers display on this site and excludes redistribution and the accumulation of history. The figures are read from Silicon Data's public chart, which serves exactly that window, and the explorer opens the row on its seven-day view.
