# Silicon Data H100 index

## What it measures

The neo-cloud reading of the Silicon Data H100 Rental Price Index: a modelled, standardized figure for what an hour of H100 capacity rents for across neo-cloud providers, in US dollars per GPU-hour, published daily under the ticker SDH100RT. Silicon Data separate neo-cloud and hyperscaler pricing into distinct readings, and this is the neo-cloud one, which is the reading the CME H100 futures settle against.

It covers negotiated and committed-use deals as well as list prices, which is why it sits well below GPUQuant’s own neocloud index for the same segment; the gap between the two is the discount the market actually gives.

The forward curve anchors on it: the curve’s spot point is the same instrument as that day’s index to two more decimal places, which GPUQuant checks on every run.

Silicon Data restate history. On 3 December 2025 they restated the series back to September 2024 with a stated impact of four to six percent lower on the H100; a stored copy goes stale, and the site shows the current published values.

## How it is built

By Silicon Data, from transaction data GPUQuant cannot see. They standardize each observation for machine specification, rental term, platform performance and geography, remove statistical outliers, and validate the figure independently each day. None of that is reproducible from outside, which is the difference between this number and a GPUQuant reference: a GPUQuant figure is a reading of a published price with a URL behind it, and this is a standardized estimate.

A modelled figure, not a price any single provider published. Silicon Data standardise for machine spec, rental term, platform performance and geography, remove statistical outliers, and validate each day independently. None of that is reproducible from outside.
