# HBM4 price estimates

> What HBM4 is said to cost per gigabyte on contract, and what it is forecast to cost in 2027, as dated estimates quoted from the trade press and analyst notes.

## What it measures

What one gigabyte of HBM4 is said to cost on long-term contract, in US dollars, and what it is forecast to cost in 2027. HBM4 is the memory of the accelerators arriving from 2026, NVIDIA’s Rubin among them, and its price is being set in the supply agreements the three makers and their customers negotiate through the second half of 2026.

The forecasts are listed and not drawn. A figure for 2027 is a view of the future, not a reading, and the chart holds only what was said to be the price at the time it was said. The forecasts on record span $32 to $53 per gigabyte, a range that is itself the finding.

## How it is built

By GPUQuant, as a log rather than a computation. HBM is sold on confidential long-term contracts between three makers and a handful of accelerator vendors, so there is no spot market anyone can read and no publisher of a daily figure. What exists in public is estimates: an analyst's note, a trade-press report citing industry sources, a figure a newspaper puts to a contract. Each entry here is one of those, recorded only where a public page carries the sentence that states it, with the publisher, the date and the sentence kept beside the figure.

Sources state dollars per gigabit, per gigabyte or per stack; every entry keeps the figure as stated and converts it to dollars per gigabyte for the chart, with the arithmetic written down on the entry. A range is drawn at its midpoint and shown in full in the table. Spot, long-term contract and forecast are kept apart, because they are three different prices for the same part, and a forecast is listed but never drawn.

> **Estimates, not prints**

> HBM is sold on confidential long-term contracts and has no public price series. What exists is estimates in the trade press and analyst notes a few times a year, shown as dated points with the sentence each came from, and never joined into a line.

Every estimate the log holds for HBM4, as points on the day each was published, with the sentence it came from under the chart. Nothing is windowed and nothing is licensed: each figure is a public statement with a URL behind it.
