# Memory module spot prices

> The spot price of a DDR5 RDIMM 32GB server module and the DDR5 and DDR4 UDIMMs beside it, as DRAMeXchange publishes them, and why no maker’s list price exists for a server module.

## What it measures

The spot price of one finished memory module, in US dollars, as DRAMeXchange quotes it: the DDR5 RDIMM 32GB that a server takes, and beside it the DDR5 and DDR4 UDIMM 16GB that a desktop takes, for the difference between the two markets. A registered module carries the register chip and power management a server needs and a desktop does not, which is one reason the same capacity costs more as an RDIMM.

The publisher quotes one RDIMM size at a time and has changed it as the market moved: a DDR4 RDIMM 16GB until 2025, the DDR5 RDIMM 32GB since. Each is its own row, because a 16GB DDR4 module and a 32GB DDR5 module are not one series with a step in it.

No memory maker publishes a list price for a server module. Crucial, which is Micron’s own store, and Kingston both route their RDIMMs to resellers with no price on the page, checked on 2026-09-10. So the memory market has no analogue of the cloud price list GPUQuant’s reference prices are read from, and this spot print is what is published.

Nothing is shown yet. TrendForce, which publishes DRAMeXchange, has been asked for written consent to display the table.

## How it is built

By DRAMeXchange, TrendForce's memory price service, which publishes a session average, high and low for each part from the day's trading among vendors, OEMs, system integrators, module makers and brokers. GPUQuant reads the session average from the table on DRAMeXchange's public page, dates each row by that table's own stamp, and never computes anything from it: a spot print is quoted as published, per chip or per module, in dollars.

The history comes from the Internet Archive, which holds the page with the table intact on about 1,300 distinct days since 2019, read through the same parser as the live page. The publisher's item names have changed over that time and each series matches every name it has carried; a name the catalog does not know is dropped and reported rather than guessed at.
