# Silicon Data B200 Rental Index Futures

> The Silicon Data B200 Rental Index futures CME Group plans to list on NYMEX: what one contract represents, what it settles against, when it lists, and how it will trade through a connected broker.

Cash-settled against SDB200RT, Silicon Data's daily B200 rental index. One contract is roughly one GPU rented for one month.

## What it is

CME Group and Silicon Data have announced plans to list futures on GPU rental indices, starting with the H100 and the B200, on NYMEX, subject to regulatory review. The B200 contract is cash-settled against SDB200RT, the Silicon Data B200 Rental Price Index; nobody delivers a GPU, and one contract represents approximately one GPU rented for one month, the 730-hour GPU-month.

The B200 index is not the same kind of number as the H100 index. The H100 contract settles against a neo-cloud segment reading; the B200 index blends neo-cloud, hyperscaler, colocation and private-market observations into one figure, because Silicon Data publish no neo-cloud-only B200 reading. A comparison that holds for the H100 contract does not automatically hold for this one.

## Its place in compute

The B200 is the current generation of NVIDIA datacenter accelerator, and its rental price is where the newest capacity is priced. Silicon Data note that supply is constrained relative to demand, which they expect to show as wider bid-ask spreads than on the older indices, and the B200 index has already had its provider set expanded once since it started, with a stated impact of up to six percent.

> **Not a GPU price**

> The contract is a claim on the cost of using a GPU for a month, settled against an index. It is not the price of a GPU and it is not any list price on this site.

## The contract

A cash-settled futures contract on CME Group, NYMEX, settling against SDB200RT, the Silicon Data B200 Rental Price Index. One contract represents approximately one GPU rented for one month, the 730-hour GPU-month, and nobody delivers a GPU. It lists on October 5, 2026, pending regulatory review. Its tick size, its margin and its trading hours will be the exchange's, published with the contract specifications when it lists.

A dated future differs from a perpetual in the one way that matters most: it expires. Its price is an expectation of what the index will read at settlement, it pays no funding, and it converges on the index by expiring into it rather than by being pulled toward it every hour.

## Reading it beside the data

- [Silicon Data B200 index](https://gpuquant.com/docs/market-data/silicon-data-b200-index): The index the contract settles against, and why it is a blend rather than a segment.
- [B200 forward curve](https://gpuquant.com/docs/market-data/b200-forward-curve): What the market already expects that index to be at every month out to three years.
- [B200 reference price](https://gpuquant.com/docs/market-data/b200-reference-price): The hyperscaler list price for the same GPU-hour, the ceiling the index sits under.
- [B200 neocloud index](https://gpuquant.com/docs/market-data/b200-neocloud-index): GPUQuant’s list-price index of the specialist clouds, which is not like-for-like with a blended index and is shown with that said.

## Trading it here

Not yet. The contract is announced and not trading anywhere. When it trades, orders will go to a connected futures broker that keeps the account, the margin, the clearing and the execution, and GPUQuant stays the intelligence layer; the row on Tradable Compute will carry a market-data feed the day one exists. How the site will handle it is on [Tradable Compute](https://gpuquant.com/docs/tradable-compute).

## Risks

The contract does not exist yet. Its terms and its listing date can change before it trades, and the announcement is the only source for any of them.

The settlement index is a blend whose composition Silicon Data can change, and have changed; a change in the index is a change in what the contract settles against.
